The following resources are not mine, I have no financial stake in any of them, nor do I benefit in any way if you use them. I cannot guarantee the information they contain. However, these are resources that I have used time and again in my own studies and I offer them here in the hopes that you may find them as valuable as I do. As with any such resources, I encourage you to weigh them against your own understanding of scripture and always bring it before the Lord in prayer.

BibleGateway – BibleGateway provides countless (because I haven’t tried to count them) translations of the Bible in a searchable format that allows you to cross reference and place scripture of different translations side by side. It also includes other reference and study materials.

RightNow Media – RightNow Media offers small group and individual Bible studies on many topics and geared toward a number of audiences (men, women, kids, etc). With text based and video based lessons there is something for everyone. Some of their material is available only through subscription (many churches have a group subscription so check with your local church before getting out your credit card) but a significant amount of their library is offered free. Most of the lessons are presented by nationally and internationally recognized Christian Leaders.

Strong’s Concordance – A Bible concordance is a listing of every word in the Bible with a definition of the word in its original language (hint: the Bible was written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek – not English). Strong’s Concordance is just one such resource, but is, in my opinion, the gold standard.

Christian Denominations – With over 40,000 different Christian denominations world wide, a comprehensive list is near impossible. Encyclopedia.com however does as good a job as any identifying the more prominent groups and outlining some of their history and more defining beliefs.

Olive Tree – This is a Bible software package, that comes in an app as well, that offers a large number of Bible translations and study materials. This makes for a great mobile Bible solution that is always at the ready.

Ravi Zacharias – Apologetics (the act or ability to explain scripture) is, I believe, the foundation of present day evangelism and outreach. Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) is a global leader in apolgetics. **Ravi passed in May 2020, a keen mind and a true ambassador for Christ, he will be sorely missed.**
